The way we work doesn’t suit everyone, because of marketing’s ‘Achilles heal’, namely its short-termism (i.e. weak management teams not being custodians of the most important marketing dynamics, so that when marketing people join and leave good initiatives can easily founder). But it works well for those that stick with it, for example Quality Street (Nestle) for 5 years, M&S for 7 years (financial services, then stores in UK & Europe), AJ Products for 9 years (business furniture & warehouse equipment), Jongleurs Comedy Clubs for 6 years, South West Trains for 6 years, P&O Ferries for 5 years. And more recently for organisations like New Covent Garden Soup Company, the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust and East Midlands Trains for example.
